We had a very special Program! Our three remaining founding members,
Marilyn Craft, Lucy Lisson, and Gwen Henry,
along with Jean Foglein, gave a very interesting and informative talk about the
beginning of the guild and much of it's history.
Did you know we are the oldest guild in the province?
And also the only guild to have a show every year, starting
the very first year the guild was founded, in 1980, with 17 women with an interest in quilting.
Next year we will celebrate our 40th anniversary.
Thank you so much for your vision and knowledge.
We all enjoyed listening and learning, with a few laughs thrown in..

we were privileged to have long time member Ella Hopper
present a trunk show of her quilting over the years.
Ella is a true artist and never one to shy away from a difficult
pattern! WTG Ella. We enjoyed every minute.
I thnk this was from our challenge last year whereby members chose a theme and
made blocks each month for each other. Obviously Janet chose trees. Well done!

February is our Neonatal Month. we have such generous members. this year we collected
70 Neonatal quilts, as well as 3 baby size quilts, 24 hearts, and 7 tini little knitted hats.

there were some great examples brought it.
this one was made in 1915 and has come through Sally's family.
this has been very well preserved.
an even earlier one from 1912, from Ann's family had been loved
and is quite fragile
a more recent one, I think made by Joan.

who made it reversible.

this also is a recent one made by Libby. Is it called Bluework or Redwork ?
Traditonally even through a different colour may have been used, it
was still called Redwork!

The Christmas Quilts made our space very festive,
the Manger Scene is Vi's, the log cabin wreath belongs to Ann from years ago, the HO, HO, HO is Elizabeth's and i can't remember who made the Yo Yo Wreath.
